7 habits of highly effective people

I don’t normally read self-help books. It was a gradual process that got me here. It began with buying a new purse.

I use an organizer as a purse and had worn my old one out. My mom bought me a new one for Christmas. The new one had pockets and straps and everything! It came with a goal setting kit. I found the kit very helpful and did some searching on the internet about the manufacturer. I discovered the organizer was made by Franklin-Covey. It is based on the book, “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.” I got hold of a copy and read the book.

The advice in this book is plain common sense (which is increasingly uncommon). If you want to be successful in business, your relationships, or just life in general, buy this book. It gives you step by step directions on how to set the goals most important to you and then how to achieve them.

The ideas in this book are not based on the modern “Naval-Gazing” ideas most self-help books are based on. He won’t tell you you are the center of the universe, that your problems are because your mother didn’t kiss you goodnight on August 10, 1972, nor how to manipulate others into doing what you want. He is a Christian and bases his ideas on conquering your self and finding win/win solutions to your problems; solutions where everybody is happy. Truly “Do unto others” as the Bible says.

Again, I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE!
