"Exodus 18:8 And Moses told his father-in-law all that the I AM had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the problems that had happened to them on the way, and how the I AM delivered them.
(My comments) That must have been some story time!
9 And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the I AM had done to Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
(My comments) The Bible calls Jethro the “priest of Midian.” It is entirely possible he was a priest to the true God for the Midianites. He was one of several non-Israelites mentioned in the Bible who evidently worshiped the true God. Salvation was not just for the Jews, but to any who feared God.
10 And Jethro said, “Blessed be the I AM, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
11 “Now I know that the I AM is greater than all gods, because when the Egyptians were so arrogant, He proved Himself more powerful.”
12 And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, offered a burnt offering and sacrifices for God. And Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.
(My comments) They had a party.

Today's Bible Study-
Exodus 19- The Mountain on Fire

and
Romans 4- Abraham's Justification by Faith
Today's work in Romans 5
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

to
Romans 5:17 For if by the sin of one man death reigned through his sin, how much more will they who receive an abundance of undeserved favor and the gift of righteousness through Jesus Christ reign in life.)

18 So, just like judgment came on all humans because of the sin of one man, condemning them to death, purification came on all humans by the righteousness of one Man, giving them life.

Today's Hymn

5204 recorded steps yesterday.

AY usually says A at the end of a base word.

On schedule for next week:
  • My 16yo got her learners permit. Yeah! Now for driving lessons.
  • Mount Never Rest (laundry)
  • Weekly Home blessing
  • Work on the porch, dinning room, and yard
  • Start working in the yard and garden
  • List some more books with eBay and mail what sells this week.
  • List stuff with Craigslist.
  • Decide on events for both the church and my business.  (:-) found some Facebook pages that will help this! May have one lined up for June 9)
  • Pull music for worship service
  • Finish Romans 5
  • Make salve
  • Get oldest son's phone company changed.
Yesterday was not exactly the best day of my life. Woke up headachy still, received bad news before breakfast, went to DMV and got in line, then went to do some errands while I waited my turn, since they told me it would be an hour (which didn't really surprise me). As I finished my errands, they texted me that I had 25 minutes so I needed to get back there. When we walked in, I got a text that we only had 18 minutes to wait. Two. Hours. Later, we were finally called up. :-( Our DMV puts any one with a handicapped plate at the front of the line. There were 12 windows open when we arrived. Immediately, 7 clerks went on lunch break. So, with only 5 windows open, as the ADA people came in, they were called up, and they came in at the same rate the clerks could take care of people. So, though we were 5th in line, we sat there and watched for 2 hours as some 10 or so ADA people were served, without moving up one place in line.

And, of course, DMV is like this because they don't have to respond to their "customers." Walmart handles far more complicated things so much faster.

Why in the world do people want to do this to healthcare?!?!?!?!?

Solutions

I know a lot is done through the internet now, and they have gone back to letting insurance companies take care of car registrations. That's a start.

Why don't we let insurance companies test and licence drivers? After all, they are the ones who suffer financially is some one is a bad driver. They have a financial incentive to make sure people really do know how to be safe on the road. This would significantly increase the number of places such things could be dealt with, reducing wait times.

Voter registration should be handled through the post office, not DMV.

And there has to be a better way to deal with Selective Service registration, too. Especially as fewer young people are even getting licenses.

Organ Doner? Instead of putting it on our licenses (which fewer and fewer people are even getting), contract with Amazon and Walmart to offer them.

Reducing the things we expect DMV to handle reduces the time it takes in there.

We have to do something, because there is no excuse for what I went through yesterday.

The rest of the day

After a nice lunch with Dad, I went home to lay down because of my headache. By the time I got up I had pinched a nerve or something in my neck or back. My right arm hurt enough I'd have called an ambulance if it had been my left.

So, yeah. Let's not have a day like that again.

Flexi of the Day:

A Hairband with a magnetic clasp= a bracelet!

For my Daily routines, see the sidebar.

Monthly Habit we are building:

Making our Beds every day.

This is something I have done for a long time. It really does make the whole house seem cleaner.

Weekly Home Blessing

  • Take all the trash out of the house (which we do every day, not weekly)
  • Change the sheets (Everyone is responsible for their own bed except my 6yo who is too short to reach his loft bed well enough to make it. Done)
  • 10 minutes feather dusting the house (don't own a feather duster. Need to fix that. Meanwhile, set the timer and cloth dust for 10 minutes.)
  • Shine the windows and door glass (Takes less than 10 minutes in my house.)
  • Recycle magazines and catalogs (Which I do through out the week, tossing after just a day or two in the house)
  • Vacuum the middle of the floors (needs to be done daily, or minimum every other day, in our house. 11 people in 1400' home with no sidewalks [just dirt around the entry] just has too much dirt to wait a whole week)
  • Quick mop the kitchen and bathrooms (You know, I think this may need to be done daily too, at least in the kitchen and dining room)

      Weekly zone focus:

Entry, dinning room, porch, and yard (Flylady's entry must be into her dinning room.)

(This is the zone we are tackling all our monthly and less often chores in this week)

Today's Meals:

  • SOS
  • SOS
  • Hash

  • De-web dinning room

Tuesday - Declutter in the Entryway
Wednesday - Declutter in the Dining Room

Do you use a feather duster? Do you like it?

I do ask that there be no anonymous commenters, though. If I am brave enough to put my name on this blog, you should be too:-)

Please keep it civil. Remember we are all human and make mistakes, and that since we can't see each other's faces or hear each other's tone of voice, it is very hard to get the emotion in what we are saying each other. Use lots of emoticons! :-) And show grace and love to each other.
