Basic Christian Beliefs

God created the universe from nothing in six literal days.

Man chose to sin, to disobey God.

The punishment for that sin is death- physical and spiritual

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

The wages of sin is death

God loved us so much He put on a robe of flesh, was born of a virgin, and lived life on earth as a sinless mortal. He then willingly died to pay the debt for our sin.

He rose the third day after His crucifixion.

In order to receive this salvation from death, we must admit we are sinners needing salvation, turn from our sins, (“repent” means “turn from”) and follow Christ.

God demands we live a righteous life. We cannot continue walking in sin, as we would then not be following Jesus but sin. To follow Jesus we must live as sinless of a life as possible. He did.

We must devote our resources (time, money, energy) to the promotion of the kingdom of God. That is showing true love for others; attempting to lead them to heaven and away from hell.

There will be an end of time.

Every human soul will go to either heaven or hell. God cannot stand sin, so sinners must go to hell. Only those whose sins have been washed away by Christ can go to heaven.

Any teaching different from what is above is heresy and will lead to hell.

Thank you so much for commenting! I love to talk to my readers.

I do ask that there be no anonymous commenters, though. If I am brave enough to put my name on this blog, you should be too:-)

Please keep it civil. Remember we are all human and make mistakes, and that since we can't see each other's faces or hear each other's tone of voice, it is very hard to get the emotion in what we are saying each other. Use lots of emoticons! :-) And show grace and love to each other.
