Facts, thumbs, guns and stupid people

“There are more employees in the Department of Agriculture than there are farmers in America. There are around 775,000 words in the Bible; there are 7,000,000 words in the U. S. tax code. Don't ever say your government isn't working hard for you.”

Have you ever considered your thumb? It is a marvelous piece of workmanship. Without it we can’t turn doorknobs, hold objects one handed, or do many other things. It is such a miraculous thing, this thumb. How could it have possibly happened by accident? Have you thanked God for your thumb lately?

“A little gun history:

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up
and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million. (Betty here: notice that all these governments were socialists)

It has now been more than 24 months, since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government; a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

List of 7 items:
1. Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.
2. Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.
3. Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
4. In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned in their guns, the criminals did not!)
5. While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
6. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY.
7. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. (That's because gun-control advocates have doggy do-do for brains, and are unable to draw conclusions based upon facts and logic.)

You won't see this on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

The Australian experience and the other historical facts above, prove it. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding. Take note Americans, before it's too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson. The old saw that "With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'." is not a joke.

Here's another fact our government doesn't want you to know. During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED! Imagine that!!

Consider this, if the 2nd Amendment is ever invalidated, then the Bill of Rights is just so much paper. The 2nd Amendment is the guarantor of all those other "unalienable rights" so declared by the founding fathers.”

I am sorry I have lost the name of the author of the above. If anyone knows please contact me so I can give just credit.

When did things become so complicated? Read on. I would like to read comments about this. Diana My Quote, "Life is for the birds, do you have one?"

Thank you so much for commenting! I love to talk to my readers.

I do ask that there be no anonymous commenters, though. If I am brave enough to put my name on this blog, you should be too:-)

Please keep it civil. Remember we are all human and make mistakes, and that since we can't see each other's faces or hear each other's tone of voice, it is very hard to get the emotion in what we are saying each other. Use lots of emoticons! :-) And show grace and love to each other.
