Have you guessed which family can afford a stay-at-home mom? It is of course the poorer family. You see statistics tell us that two income families to are generally middle or higher class. One income families are generally middle or lower. The second income is what puts families into the upper bracket.
Isn’t it interesting that it is the poor who think motherhood is worth sacrificing for? The ones with fewer material goods?
And of course they are the ones who homeschool. They can’t afford to keep their children clothed fashionably enough to keep them from getting beat up. And anyway, they enjoy being with their children and, after studying the Bible, believe that that is the best way to teach a child about God anyway. In fact, when offered a private school scholarship for their children, they politely decline.
Homeschooling only costs and average of $500 per child. Some families spend a great deal more to be sure. But that means some spend way less.
The fascinating thing is that the poor family is also the one more likely to have more children, too. It is almost as if the value people and relationships more than things and status. Hmmmm.
“Meanwhile, think about which one describes your family. If I were to look at your financial records, what would your decisions say about your priorities? “
Now, I have no desire to actually see your financial records. I have a lot more interesting things read:-) but maybe you should think about what your check book shows about your priorities.
Helping homeschooling and stay-at-home moms make well-functioning homes of peace, joy, beauty, and contentment.

Thank you so much for commenting! I love to talk to my readers.
I do ask that there be no anonymous commenters, though. If I am brave enough to put my name on this blog, you should be too:-)
Please keep it civil. Remember we are all human and make mistakes, and that since we can't see each other's faces or hear each other's tone of voice, it is very hard to get the emotion in what we are saying each other. Use lots of emoticons! :-) And show grace and love to each other.
