Continuous Fetal Monitering- Whether beneficial or not

Whether beneficial or not - The Unnecesarean -

There has been no improvement of baby outcomes since the introduction of continuous monitoring. However, c-sections have gone from less that 20% to over 33% (ONE THIRD!!!). There is every reason to believe that cfm is one major cause of this rise.

Why is such a high c-section rate a problem?

Infection, placentia acretia, laceration of unintended organs (in both mom and baby), respiratory problems in baby, pulmonary embolism, hysterectomy, massive hemorrhage, damage to bladder and bowels, etc

a c-section IS major abdominal surgury. It DOES carry risks. If your dr isn't telling you the risks and the statistics to go along with that, there is a very good chance you are being manipulated into doing what is best for the dr.

Thank you so much for commenting! I love to talk to my readers.

I do ask that there be no anonymous commenters, though. If I am brave enough to put my name on this blog, you should be too:-)

Please keep it civil. Remember we are all human and make mistakes, and that since we can't see each other's faces or hear each other's tone of voice, it is very hard to get the emotion in what we are saying each other. Use lots of emoticons! :-) And show grace and love to each other.
