I wish he was making this up too, but this isn't the first time I have read about this issue.

There is no such thing as free healthcare (or public school, Government grants, bailouts, etc. for that matter) SOMEONE pays. Should it be the person using the service or their neighbor down the street?

Yesterday (8-31-10) I had the privilage of talking to an 89 year old doctor. He had much wisdom to impart and I had a good time. He is very disgusted with the medical profession right now. His observation is that they do what they do not to help people, but to make money. Sadly, I have seen that in following the logic of many types of treatment, too. Especially in birth.

Adult stem-cells have had way more success than embryonic stem cells. In fact there are a number of treatments on the market now for adult stem cells. None for embryonic. Now this researcher has found a way to make normal adult cells into stem cells. Coming to a hospital near you; Need a heart? lets take a blood test and grow you one! (OK, it may be a life time away, but still...)

Should we put students on calorie restricted diets? Absolutely...If those students are studying to be health care professionals.
