Common saying in the churches I have grown up in:
If you and I are exactly alike, one of us is not necessary.
If the Republicans are just like the Democrats, one of them should be eliminated as redundant.
I don't know where this idea that the two parties should "get along" and "work together" came from (though I seem to only hear it when its the Dem's ideas on the voting block). The fact is we are a two party system because there are two major views of government;
- The federal government should be as big as possible.
- The federal government should be a little as possible.
- The federal government should be as big as possible.
- The federal government should be as big as possible, but a little slower.
Congress (and honestly election campaigns) should be a place for discussion, disagreement, telling it like it is. Fling some mud out there! Don't play "nicey nicey;" tell me how horrible the Dems ideas are and WHY! Otherwise you, GOP, come across as spineless, selfish, greedy wimps in it only for the money.
It's time for change in the leadership of the GOP. Rhinos OUT!

Please keep it civil. Remember we are all human and make mistakes, and that since we can't see each other's faces or hear each other's tone of voice, it is very hard to get the emotion in what we are saying each other. Use lots of emoticons! :-) And show grace and love to each other.
