CULLOWHEE: Fat people aren't the enemy

CULLOWHEE: Fat people aren't the enemy | Other Views | NewsObserver.com: Recently, a team of psychologists from UCLA reviewed the scientific research on the effectiveness of weight-loss regimes. The good news - it is fairly easy for most people to shed up to about10 pounds. The bad news is that nearly all of them will gain the weight back within two years. The even worse news is that between 30 and 60 percent of dieters regain more than they lost.

If weightloss is possible, and we spend more money on weghtloss drugs, food, etc, why aren't we all skinny?

The fact is, it's not possible for the vast majority of people.

Thank you so much for commenting! I love to talk to my readers.

I do ask that there be no anonymous commenters, though. If I am brave enough to put my name on this blog, you should be too:-)

Please keep it civil. Remember we are all human and make mistakes, and that since we can't see each other's faces or hear each other's tone of voice, it is very hard to get the emotion in what we are saying each other. Use lots of emoticons! :-) And show grace and love to each other.
